What’s actually being built
Trumpeter is predominantly duplexes, but not exclusively — the duplex-heavy mix here is a real departure from most other communities in this guide, where single-family typically leads; just over a third of active listings (6 of 17) are single-family instead.
| Home type | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Duplex | 8 | 57% |
| Single-Family | 5 | 36% |
| Townhome | 1 | 7% |

| Over $750,000 | 0 |
Common features across the current inventory: 9 homes list a garage, 0 have a side entrance (the standard precursor to a future basement suite), 2 include a bonus room. 0 listings currently have a finished basement suite — so if suite income is your goal here, some buyers are working from a side entrance and finishing it themselves.
Location
Where Trumpeter is
Trumpeter is in northwest Edmonton, in Ward Nakota Isga, on the shores of Big Lake — one of the youngest neighbourhoods in the city, established through the Big Lake Neighbourhood One Structure Plan adopted in June 2008 and officially named Trumpeter in August 2009. It is bounded by Winterburn Road (215 Street) to the west and north, 199 Street to the east, and a ravine to the south, placing Starling directly to its east.
Marketed as Trumpeter by Big Lake, the community is part of a broader Big Lake legacy that has added three communities and over 2,000 households since 2010, including Starling and Kinglet Gardens, with plans to grow to five communities in total.
The developer, Anthem (through United Big Lake LP), has assembled a builder roster including Jayman BUILT, Pacesetter Homes and Montorio Homes.
Builders
Who’s building here
Trumpeter is developed by Anthem (United Big Lake LP). Builders listed as active in the community include Jayman BUILT, Pacesetter Homes and Montorio Homes.
A note on how we source this. The MLS® feed behind this site carries the listing brokerage, not the builder, so we cannot automatically attribute a specific home to a specific builder from the feed alone. The builder list above comes from Anthem (United Big Lake LP)'s own community materials.
Schools
Schools and catchments
Catchments in developing neighbourhoods change as schools are built and boundaries are redrawn, and we would rather send you to the authoritative source than publish a list that quietly goes stale. Both Edmonton school boards maintain official address-level finders:
Enter the exact address of any home you are considering — in a newer neighbourhood, two homes a few blocks apart can fall into different catchments.
Nearby
How it compares to its neighbours
The 1 community bordering Trumpeter is active new-construction market in its own right. Together with Trumpeter they account for 31 active new-construction listings in one contiguous stretch of Edmonton — a genuinely efficient area to shop, since you can compare 2 communities in an afternoon.
| Community | Listings | Median price | Price range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trumpeter (this page) | 14 | $413,508 | $374,980 – $577,497 |
| Starling east | 11 | $689,800 | $555,000 – $889,000 |
The pattern worth noticing: Starling carries a meaningfully higher median. Across the group, price per square foot is close enough that the differences are mostly about home size and lot type rather than a premium for the postal code.

FAQ
Common questions
How many new construction homes are for sale in Trumpeter?
As of 16 September 2026 there are 14 active new-construction listings in Trumpeter, one of the more active new-construction neighbourhoods in Greater Edmonton. Prices range from $374,980 to $577,497, with a median list price of $413,508.
Where exactly is Trumpeter?
Trumpeter is in northwest Edmonton (Ward Nakota Isga), on the shores of Big Lake. It is bounded by Winterburn Road (215 Street) to the west and north, 199 Street to the east, and a ravine to the south — bordering Starling to the east.
Which builders are building in Trumpeter?
Trumpeter is developed by Anthem (United Big Lake LP), with Jayman BUILT, Pacesetter Homes and Montorio Homes listed as active builders. The MLS® feed does not record the builder against each listing, so we cannot map an individual home to a builder automatically.
Is Trumpeter cheaper than the rest of Edmonton?
On headline price, yes — the median is about 25% below the Edmonton new-construction median. Price per square foot tells a similar story, so this looks like genuine value rather than just smaller homes.
Can I find a home with a legal basement suite in Trumpeter?
Rarely to never, at the moment — none of the 14 active listings in Trumpeter currently has a finished basement suite.
Do I pay anything to have MoveNew represent me?
No. Builder sales representatives work for the builder. MoveNew represents you instead, at zero cost — the commission for a buyer's agent is already built into the builder's budget whether or not you bring one.
What if I have a home to sell?
That is common, and it is worth planning early. The timing question is how a builder's possession date lines up with the sale of your current home — completion dates can move, and carrying two homes or bridging the gap has a real cost. Start with a free home evaluation so you know what your current home is worth, then read our guide to selling before buying new construction.
